Welsh Language Policy

Welsh Government Warm Homes Nest scheme is committed to the Welsh Language.  We support the principles that in Wales, the Welsh language should be treated no less favourably than the English language and that people in Wales should be able to live their lives through the medium of the Welsh language if they choose to do so.

We will deliver the following for all our customers:

Marketing and Literature

All Marketing and communication activity will be available in both Welsh and English.

Welsh-speaking staff

Nest has a number of staff in various positions who are fluent in Welsh.  The service we provide in both Welsh and English is to the same high standard.

Communication

Any written communication received in Welsh will be responded to in Welsh within agreed timescales.

Complaints and Appeal Process

We handle complaints and appeals received in Welsh in line with our agreed timescales.  Service standards will ensure the Welsh Language is treated equally.

Translation Service

Nest use a company approved by the Welsh Language Commissioner to provide our translation service.

Staff and the workplace

We share guidelines with all members of staff on how Nest will meet their obligation under the Welsh Language Standards.

Staff will be given the opportunity to develop their Welsh language skills, and we will offer development courses to all team members.

Welsh Government, Warm Homes Nest scheme is committed to inclusion.  This commitment includes working towards a fully bilingual service.

How can Nest help?

We offer a range of free, impartial advice and, if you are eligible, a package of free home energy efficiency improvements such as a new boiler, central heating or insulation.
